Forever Within Numbered Days

I have so many movies I cannot tell you how many. I have so many of them I probably have some that I downloaded before I was born and haven't watched yet. I'm not exactly sure if I love movies or simply just the idea of it. Maybe downloading movies is my hobby after all.

None the matter.

So this morning after sahur, after last night's out - I innocently popped a movie to my plasma. It always help me sleep. Concentration. Be it books or this time around, movies.

Title of choosing could be anything really. After all I'm only trying to catch some sleep. After brushing aside all the cobwebs in drive H, I innocently double clicked The Fault In Our Stars a movie I downloaded about a year ago I think.

Whoever the fuck penned this movie needs to be shot.

NEVER have I bawled so much waters from my droopy eyes. I cried so much you might think I had stepped on a Lego.

Who Needs I-Pod When I've Got The Bat Pod!

I watched Batman again. With hopes that I will make it earlier this time. Only to find that I was even later than the last time. Pffffttttt. Only now it so appears to me that due to the longer than normal timeline of the movie, the usual Oh-Its-Not-Gonna-Be-For-Another-Fifteen-Minutes-Due-To-Crappy-Commercials reasoning just doesn't apply. Boy boy boy.

This time around I watched still in awe of the Bat Bike (Bat Pod, according to Hadi) and still madly in love with Selina Kyle. And I came back with some quotes as well. Bwoi, I cannot wait till the Blu-Ray version comes out. Be it, if its gonna be a 40-Gig something of a file. Worth every bytes of the ever-expanding belly of my HDD.

"I started off doing what I had to. Once you’ve done what you had to they’ll never let you do what you want to.." - Selina Kyle

"You think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it." - Bane

Edit: I am so gonna get me one of those sexy Bat Pod toys!

Batman, Anne & The Bike

Batman was just simply, plainly breathtaking. I stood there awestruck for the most part of the movie. The awestruck that I hadn't have ever since the first franchise of the Transformers went out. The 'O' shape signifying the 'OMG AWESOME' didn't leave my mouth for a long time.

Firstly, Bane the villain. Terrifying from the get go, with a voice that sounded a tad mechanical (perhaps due to the AWEfrigginSOME mask on his face) which honestly, I think adds to the eeriness, a voice which was loud, means business and wouldn't bat an eyelash blowing up the entire earth's 6 billion population - just to make a point. And sprinkle on top of that - THE MASK. The friggin mask. Awesome. Awesome some some some. A merciless villain who would say something like "Search him, and then I'm gonna kill you.." like its the most normal thing under the sun. Then he said "Go!" and passes some sort of tracking device to the bewildered minion, who was like "Where ?" - then shot him while he was still holding the device, thus the guise of him being the domain for the tracking device. OMG. Christoper Nolan was just plain genius.

Enter Selina Kyle, the Cat Woman cast by dearly beloved, Anne Hathaway. Hathaway just hath a way with me prior to Batman. The impact she left of me in Love & Another Drugs had me telling people around "Mata masuk habuk.." a couple of times. Then, another one was One Day. But Batman was, I think quite new, even for her. A whole new territory. But she was one sexy sexy Cat Woman. Guile mixed with dry wit and a penchant for cunning. Batman had it from her a couple of times. Yes, not even THE Batman was spared from the tricks she played. First she stole an inherited diamond necklace from Batman's safe, then when he thought he'd get even with her. He got his car stolen the very same night. "Sir, your wife said *inaudible*.." and he was like "MY WIFE ?" LOL. Wargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh. Then with innocent face, she told him "Mr. Bruce, I'm so sorry they make you broke.." to a small retort from the Batman "I doubt that." EPIC.

Then the Bat Bike. The Bat Bike. My recent obsession with bikes doesn't help either. I had to pick up my awestricken jaws from the floor a couple of times due to how awesome that thing was. The artfully beautiful revving sound of the bike, the ridiculously aerodynamic seating. Those impossibly thick tyres. And what the hell do you need a blasting cannon attached on the side of your bike for, which weirdly, ironically, is why the Bat Bike is so so sexy. The way it took a swerve when the GCPD thought Batman was cornered, just for it to unleash the most spectacular, yet impossible L-turn in front of the admiring dumbstruck police forces. Man oh man, I am in effin love. And put on top of the ride, the cunning Selina Kyle. Sexy doesn't even begin to describe it.

Batman ? Well whoever needs introduction to Christian Bale's Batman should be shot a couple of times behind the head.

Just to note, my friend asked me in the theater "Where's the Joker.." and I skipped the part of trying to explain to her what with the loud noise and all. But the question does make me think later, how many franchise there is for Nolan's Batman. Further searches proved me an ignorant buff- whatever, there are currently three franchises of Nolan's Batman and I have only watched 2 of them. Batman Begins commences download as we speak.

Laters.

Megamind.

Photobucket

I wrote a few sentences. Albeit, controlled, suppressed. Just the way I don't like 'em. So here goes. A rewritten piece. 'Naked, vulnerable and..' OK you find that other word to complete the usual three-rule.

I loved every single thing about the movie. The fact that Will Ferrell act as the voice behind Megamind. The incredibly sexy, talented Tina Fey. And that oh-so charming smug smuck off arrogance from the City's saviour himself, played by Brad Pitt.

I've lost count actually, how many times have I wandered along the stretch of imaginary realm. Lost in child like fantasy - watching this movie. Over and over and over again. I can practically chuck out line after lines from this movie. Well, at least for the first 10-20 minutes. The extend of how quite an all-time favourited this movie is to me.

The point I'm arriving after much dilly dallying to is - I can relate. I can relate with Megamind on so many levels emotionally. Being the outcast, the least wanted pestilent creature. 'The screw-up, the black sheep, the bad boy' where 'fitting in wasn't really an option.'

While not exactly an outcast, I've always felt solitary, even in numbers I tend to go to that quiet corner of my mind and having a long, long conversation with myself.

Megamind wasn't half as bad as he tried so hard to potray, he was a child at heart, never really grew up while still having that one lifelong, unfulfilled desire to be accepted and validated as a member of the society. He was a genius. And often in the case of geniuses - we're the victim of our own intellect, misunderstood. Outcasted. For people grew paranoid of people who doesn't stick to the rules of norm.

He was deprived of home in his formative years. Where to be accepted was to be outcasted in itself. High security cell prison.

If anything, he viewed his arch nemesis, one Metroman as a friend more than anything he ever blurted out in public. For the only company he has is Minion.

I actually dunno where I'm going with this. So I'll end it here and I might edit it later.

Might not.

Megamind's awesome is all.

Cold Souls

Just watched another movie and apparently there's a genre known as Dramatic Comedy. Well I tell you its so dramatically comedic that I was laughing my ass off once or twice in the space of around 2 hours. That funny.

Wasn't bad a movie but I was expecting a Will Ferrel-ish kind of comedy. But Paul Giamatti wasn't too bad either.

Woman character, talking, beautiful night showered by lights view, against the backdrop of George Washington Bridge.

: Its so nice to be here with you..

Paul *indifferent face*

: Lets go somewhere and have sex.

Hahahaha. The dude is just dry.

The whole dramatic comedic thinggy doesn't appeal much to me. But the idea, the concept of the movie itself isn't bad. In fact I find it pretty inspiring.

It was about a run-down actor, Paul Giamatti. But he's more of a stage actor if anything, so yea, he was having bad days at the office. Kept messing the dialogues up, fucking up everybody's rhythm.

He felt empty.

So to cut the story short, as with every adventure (and not to mention, cliche) a friend had to suggest something and how it was a huge success for one of his friends or relative.

Soul Storage.

The idea was to extract your soul, place it in a container. And from thereon its pretty much your choice. To develop a whole new soul of your own, get another soul - buy or rent it. The objective was to be happier, more purposeful in life. I find it rather intriguing. I mean to be able top extract your soul and get a look at it. That'd be damn. Right ?

And I forgot to mention that the extracted souls took various shape depending on how the person is. Paul's morphed into a chickpea-like substance. Wargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh kargh. No wonder he refused to eat his meal of you guessed it - chickpea salad!

Wargh kargh kargh kargh kargh.

Good movie nonetheless. Not really my cup of tea, but still good movie. I mean we all have a point in life where we start questioning our belief and where has it taken us. And we cannot escape the feeling of emptiness. The only difference should be the frequency of recurrence. Frequent enough, you too should start flipping your Yellow Pages and browse for Soul Storage.

Flipped.

Just watched Flipped.

A beautifully narrated movie from 2 characters with VERY different perspectives. The cinematography of the movie just complements the whole beauty told in 700 megabytes.

I took a couple of likings in genres of movies I watched. The Sci-fi & fantasy(ies), The all guns blazing & shoot 'em all(s), zombie movies (lol) and the message-ly loaded & well substantiated -

The heavy ones.

Some of the movies that I have watched down the road that fall under this category are:

  • The Bucket List
  • Into The Wild

Flipped has all the ingredients I look for in Heavy movies.

  • Quotes
  • Beautiful cinematography
  • Colourful characters
  • The emotional elements
  • Wide, colourful skies

And the most important element - it made me dream. Takes me places, well literally. But movies watched in such fashion reminisced me of the more innocent yesteryears. Heightened the long I have for company. I've always dreamed of going places with My Intended and just watch the beauty of the world as she passed us by. Haven't had the luxury. But. =)

Sighs. Dreamer I am such.

I recommend it to anyone who is willing to sit down and contemplate. And oh by the way it was inspired by a novel of the same tittle. Lets hope you know how to type Google.

Disclaimer: Heavy, of which I'm referring to is purely of my own opinion. So its foolish on your part to assume that this is the generic Heavy that the industry and the masses' own ignorance refer to.

Saya Pun Tidak Tahu.
Nota Kaki: Loving every minutes of Zee Avi

Just watched the Twilight New Moon. Yeah, THE Twilight that girls were going so ga-ga about. Well I guess I can understand the hype. Not necessarily a fan though, far swinging - a convert.

Well I just feel like entry-ing the shit. And I've totally forgotten what's so significant about having this as an entry.

And That's Why..
Current Listen: The Pussycat Dolls feat. A.Rahman - Jai Ho (You're My Destiny).mp3
Nota Kaki: Rose Dawson was Love. *smooch*

Now I remember why I so hate watching sad/tragic movies, coz believe it or not I am a person who got effected so much when something like Rose had to leave Jack down the cruel ocean or Ho Nam's girlfriend was shot dead by that damn evil villain Crow or something.

I just watched Titanic and God, Omaigod ! I got so bothered and its so fuckin awfully sad.

Its all Fly FM's fault for having reminded me of how magnificently crafted a movie Titanic was. "Am flying.. Jack !" Damn damn damn.

But I gotta say that rewatching the movie after some 13 years of its release just gave a sheerly refreshing and dreadfully tragic feeling all the same. Back when I was 12, or was it 13 ? Erm fuck it. So yea, back when I was 12, though I could appreciate the beauty of the movie, it was more or less one of the many Cerita Orang Putih that I've seen. And of course the center of the attraction was when the classic car's windshield suddenly turned all steamy (and then all of a sudden Rose's hand falls slowly and wiping the screen off the steam). Yea, that was back then. And oh the drawing part. Even better.

Yea but that was back then. Now that I could understand the language a little better. The subtle messages a little better. Gone through somewhat identical pain altogether. The beauty of the movie has somewhat transcended the shine of light.

Lined up in the pantheons of epic.

.. And My Heart Goes To The Bravehearted Palestinians.

Photobucket

I was reading one of the Blog from Beyie's blogroll, and the author was asking for International intervention on Gaza's bloody massacre. That reminds to a movie I watched just a few days back. Richard Gere and Terrence Howard starred The Hunting Party. A movie about a journalist who got his life turned upside down after the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia.

One of the intriguing question thrown into the mind of its viewers was - "Why cant the United States or the United Nations for that matter, find a guy in THREE FUCKIN YEARS that we could, in just 2 DAYS ?", referring to The Fox a.k.a Radovan Karadzic, the blueprinter of Bosnia's melancholic tragedy.

And oh, one more thing, Terrence mentioned something like "Sir, ur not making any sense here.." and the dude replied. "Of course. We're the United Nations !". Wargh kargh kargh.

So how in God's green earth do we expect the so called Nation-fuckin-anal leaders to react on such sad events such as this ? Rais Yatim, our very own Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned something like this - "Oh Malaysia's gained recognition for her being one of the fastest to denounce Israel's (Hell scorches beneath their feet) barbaric actions..". How fuck up you could go ? No, you couldnt go beyond that kind of stupidity, married with pure ignorance. No sir. Nada.

Them Palestinians, your brothers and sisters by religion, are suffering day to day, facing endless horrors and carpeted bombings. And all you Imbeciles could come off with is WE'RE FUCKIN GAINING RECOGNITION ? MOTHERFUCKER !

So we would expect them Nation Anal Leaders to act on this ? Yeah lets hope they do so after 10s of thousands Palestinians or so have been mercilessly massacred by them trigger happy Israel's sons of fuckin bitches.

On the other hand, I for one would say let Israel go ahead and do what it prefers. You will NEVER annihilate the whole Hamas. One syuhada' returns to God will only give birth to thousands of whom are willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their religion. Any day.

Hamas, Al Qaeda and whatnots aren't any near to organizations or such that you'd like to label them. Its an ideology, a doctrine that engulfed the hearts of every religion-loving Muslims. That's one thing you'll never come in grasp with. And that's one thing that shall lead you to your downfall.

And that's God's promise. And never did He break one.
